Friederike started bellydancing more than 10 years ago and has been taught in Germany, Austria and Switzerland before moving to the UK. Before joining the Blue Scarab Dance Company in 2006, she danced with Rashiqa for several years.

As a soloist Friederike is known as Najila (Arabic for glistening eyes).

Friederike is very creative and the main designer of our costumes as well as being the force behind most of our marketing material She is also full of great ideas for choreography and other activities and her enthusiasm is positively infectious.

Friederike's husband Clive is a member of our crew supporting on many technical issues.
